Hi, I’m Dr. Santanu Baruah — although most people know me as Dr. Sunny.
I’m the Founder and Medical Director of Oasis Fertility Centre, and for more than 19 years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals and couples across the UK and Australia as they navigate their journey towards parenthood.
Over the years, I’ve learned that no two fertility journeys are the same. Behind every appointment, every treatment plan and every decision is a deeply personal story. That’s why, for me, fertility care has never been just about medicine. It’s about listening, understanding, and making sure you feel genuinely seen and supported along the way.

Your first consultation is an opportunity to understand your fertility history, discuss your goals and identify any factors that may be affecting conception. Your specialist may recommend fertility testing or further investigations based on your individual circumstances.
If you are under 35, a fertility assessment is generally recommended after 12 months of trying to conceive without success. If you are over 35, it may be helpful to seek advice after 6 months. You may also benefit from an earlier assessment if you have conditions such as PCOS, endometriosis, adenomyosis or other factors that may affect fertility.
Oasis offers a range of fertility treatments, including ovulation induction, IUI, IVF, ICSI, frozen embryo transfer, surgical sperm collection, egg freezing, sperm freezing and PGT. Your specialist will recommend the most appropriate option based on your fertility assessment and individual circumstances.
IUI involves placing prepared sperm directly into the uterus around the time of ovulation, helping the sperm reach the egg more easily. IVF involves retrieving eggs and fertilising them with sperm in the laboratory before transferring an embryo into the uterus. Your specialist can help determine which approach is more suitable for your circumstances.
