Donation Types – Known and Unknown

A donor can be either known or unknown to the couple or individual who will receive their donation. A known donor in the context of fertility treatment is a donor who is personally known to the recipient couple or individual. Known donors often have a personal connection with their recipients, such as family members or a friend. An unknown donor, in the context of fertility treatment, is a donor whose identity remains confidential to the recipient couple or individual.

In Western Australia, donor conceived people are currently able to access the identifying information about their donor at age of 16 years through the Donor Conception Information Service.

At Oasis Fertility Centre we offer both unknown and known donation services.
